On our way back from practice today we stopped to see what progress has been made to Arusha Stadium since we saw it on Tuesday. There were at least a hundred people inside the stadium. The grass had been cut each day by an 18 inch push mower, the yard lines were being put down. There were 3 platforms along one side line with cameras set up for the game, including about 10 microphones on poles set up along each sideline about 6 feet off the field. The turf is not Beaver Stadium quality but they are very proud of it and it will work VERY WELL. There was a TV production truck that looked like it was from the 60s. This country did not have one set of football goal posts so there were steel welders working away. This will be done for tomorrow's game. There were a couple of bill boards that caught my eye "Cheering Is Thirsty Work" and even one from the Blue Band (sorry not the Penn State Blue Band). There was a man in a white jump suit that was in charge of transforming this field. I told him how great the field looked and what a fantastic transformation from Tuesday! He was very proud and happy to hear this.
