Day 6 (Friday) The Children of Arusha

a local school was letting their studentsWe came here to do a football game but found somethingequally as exciting as this historic first game...the Children of Arusha.

On our way back from our second and last day of practice, our driver David took us on a short cut that really touched us all.  We drove down an unpaved road where a local school was letting their students out.  We slowed the van up to wave and say hi to the kids.  The kids magically waved back with great enthusiasm.  Mario asked if he could get his picture taken with the kids and slowly we all got out of our van to be touched by these grade school children.

Today I made a difference to one of these kid's lives.  That was the magic, that was very powerful!

They didn't know what 'high fives' were so Bill and I demonstrated and within 30 seconds every child was high fiving!  Once in the van I said to the kids "WE ARE..." they repeated, and I followed with "PENN STATE".  JoPa would be so proud that this chant was happening all the way in Tanzania Africa!
